100 Day in Core 1

The 100th Day Celebration was quite a success! The children shared their 100 collections and made some interesting observations.

Zelda – “Some are food, some are games, some are to buy things with.”
Max – “The beans don’t look like 100.”
Lucca – “Since they’re a smaller object, there’s more space for them.”
Giulia – “It’s still 100. It’s just that they’re small!”

The children enjoyed lots of counting that day – by 1s, 10s, 5s, 2s, and 20s.

Then we created a 100s Trail Mix community snack. We took 10 pieces of 10 different kinds of food (almonds, dried cranberries, popcorn, crackers, etc.). How many pieces in all?
100!

In the afternoon, the Bigs participated in a wide range of 100s activities.
Counting, Counting, Counting!

What would you do with $100?
